You have researched for weeks and are now more confused than when you started. Bring us the shortlist — we will tell you straight what is worth it and what is marketing.
Upgrade or replace?
Sometimes a £150 graphics card or an SSD transforms the PC you already own. We tell you honestly when an upgrade beats a new build — even though a new build pays us more.
Prebuilt but suspicious
The shop deal looks good, but what corner did they cut? We will look at any prebuilt spec before you buy and tell you plainly what is inside it.
Work needs more than a laptop
Photo and video editing, CAD, music production — a properly specced desktop, built quiet and reliable, without paying the gaming tax for lights you do not want.
How a build works
It starts with a conversation, not a parts list. What is it for, who is it for, what is the honest budget — including the bits people forget, like the monitor and a decent chair-height desk spot near the router. Then we spec it together: every part chosen with you, priced at what it actually costs, receipts shown. We do not mark parts up and we are not on commission from anyone, so the spec serves you, not a margin.
We build it, cable-tidy it so it can be worked on in future, stress-test it properly, and update everything before it comes to you. Then the bit the online builders cannot do: we set it up in your home — on your Wi-Fi, accounts sorted, sensible parental controls if it is for a young gamer, and everything explained before we leave. If the Wi-Fi where the PC lives is not up to online gaming, we will tell you and we can fix that too.
You pay what the parts cost — receipts shown, nothing marked up. Our time is our normal honest rate: £95 including the first hour, £55 an hour after, agreed as a fixed quote before we order a single component. Most builds take an afternoon. Upgrades are usually well inside the first hour.

Family and homework PCs — reliable, quick, easy to live with. Separate accounts for the kids, patient setup for grandparents, no nonsense.
Workstations — photo, video, CAD and music builds where the money goes on what your software actually uses.
Upgrades — graphics cards, memory, SSDs that make an old PC feel new, fitted and tested at your home. And if your PC is not worth upgrading, we will say so before you spend a penny — that honesty is the whole way we work.

Custom build questions, answered straight
Can you build a gaming PC for my son or daughter in time for Christmas?
Yes — and the earlier you ask, the calmer it is for everyone. Popular parts get scarce and pricey in December, so a November conversation gets a better PC for the same money. We can deliver it built and boxed for the big morning, then come back after to set it up properly.
Do you mark up the parts?
No. You pay what the parts cost and you see the receipts. Our money is made on the build time, quoted fixed before we order anything — so our only incentive is a spec that suits you.
Can I supply my own parts?
Absolutely — plenty of people arrive with a boxful. We will sanity-check the list is compatible before you open anything, then build it. If something you bought is a dud, each part carries its manufacturer’s warranty and we will point you straight at who to contact.
Is my current PC worth upgrading instead?
Often, yes — an SSD or a graphics card can transform a machine for a fraction of a new build. Tell us what you have and what is frustrating you, and we will give you an honest verdict either way.
What happens if something goes wrong after the build?
Our workmanship is guaranteed — if a cable was not seated or a setting was wrong, we come back and put it right, no charge. Individual parts carry their manufacturer warranties, and we will tell you exactly who to contact and what to say.
